LEXINGTON, Ky. – Fresh off its 10th-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Kentucky volleyball team is set to hit the hardwood for the 2015 spring schedule beginning March 28. UK will compete four times during the spring season which includes a home contest vs. Morehead State on April 8.
“We are looking forward to competing this spring,” UK head coach Craig Skinner said. “It will be a great chance to see some new lineups, try new things, and compete against good competition. During this time of the year we learn a ton about our team and what the possibilities are for our system in the fall. We return a very athletic group and it will be fun to start molding this group for future success.”
Kentucky opens the 2015 spring schedule with a round robin tournament in Louisville on March 28. UK will play in the KIVA Spring College Tournament, a tournament the Wildcats participate in nearly every spring season.
The following week sees the Wildcats hosting the Eagles in a match scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on April 8. UK and Morehead State tangled during the fall season in which UK prevailed by a 3-0 score.
Kentucky will conclude spring action on the road beginning on April 12. UK will travel to take on rival Louisville at 3:30 p.m. ET. Kentucky captured the regular season matchup between the two squads in Louisville in 2014 by a 3-1 score.
The spring season concludes with a date at Ohio State on April 15. Match time is slated for 7 p.m. ET in Columbus, Ohio.
UK returns 10 players to the 2015 roster following another successful season in 2014 including six players who started multiple matches for UK in the fall including All-American Morgan Bergren, All-Southeastern Conference Freshman team member Kaz Brown, Emily Franklin, Sara Schwarzwalder, All-SEC performer Anni Thomasson and Shelby Workman.
