No. 25 UK Hosts Ole Miss, Mississippi State to Open SEC Play

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 25 Kentucky women’s tennis team begins Southeastern Conference play this weekend, when it welcomes No. 15 Ole Miss and No. 63 Mississippi State to Lexington. UK and Ole Miss square off Friday at 4 p.m. ET, while the Wildcats and MSU meet Sunday at Noon.

The Wildcats (9-4) own a perfect 7-0 record at home, having only lost two sets in 2015 at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex. The Rebels come to Lexington with an 8-1 record, while the Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 9-1 mark and play Vanderbilt Friday.

Kentucky enters Sunday’s match ranked No. 25 in the latest ITA team rankings. In the individual rankings, junior Nadia Ravita is 60th. In doubles, Ravita and sophomore Aldila Sutjiadi are 28th.

Ole Miss is represented three times in the individual rankings, led by Julia Jones at No. 14. Arianne Hartono is 43rd, while Mai El Kamash is No. 109. Mississippi State’s Georgiana Patrasc is ranked No. 75 in the nation.

Friday’s match vs. the Rebels is the “Greek Attendance Challenge,” while Sunday’s contest against the Bulldogs is Youth Day. Both matches will feature free admission for all fans and free pizza, while slices last.

The Wildcats’ homestand concludes on March 6 vs. Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. ET. UK hits the road for the first time in SEC competition, traveling to Georgia on March 13 and Tennessee on March 15.
