It was an emotional scene on the floor in Columbia, S.C., as medical personnel tended to Janee Thompson. Thompson, a point guard for Kentucky’s women’s basketball team, went down with a serious leg injury in the final minutes of her team’s loss at No. 1 South Carolina and her teammates looked on, consoling one another and eventually Thompson as she left the floor on a stretcher. After the game, Thompson was diagnosed with a dislocated left ankle and broken fibula, ending her season. It’s a big blow for UK Hoops, but the thoughts of everyone first went to Thompson, who was in the middle of a solid junior season in which she was averaging 10.1 points and 3.1 assists.Support for Thompson came pouring in from all corners (you can see some of it below) and we hope you’ll join us in continuing to send thoughts and prayers her way.

The entire #BBN will be fighting with you, @houdini_3 ! #lafamilia #OURSeason #PrayersforJanee
