LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) – Linnae Harper had 12 points, 14 rebounds and forced a key turnover late to help No. 11 Kentucky come back and beat Mississippi 64-58 on Sunday.
Kentucky used an 8-0 run to take a 56-51 lead, and Ole Miss answered with a 7-2 surge to make it 58-all. Janee Thompson scored to give the Wildcats a two-point lead with 2:22 to play.
Harper forced a turnover on A’Queen Hayes, and then scored to make it 62-58 with 1:13 left. Jennifer O’Neill made a pair of free throws to seal it for the Wildcats.
Thompson finished with 17 points, O’Neill scored 13 points and Makayla Epps chipped in 12, and Harper had four steal for Kentucky (13-2, 2-0 SEC).
Tia Faleru had 21 points and 13 rebounds for her sixth consecutive double-double. Hayes added 10 points for Mississippi (11-4, 1-1 SEC), which had its five-game winning streak snapped.
