LEXINGTON, Ky. – The eighth-ranked University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will play host to the Belmont Bruins Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. ET in Memorial Coliseum, looking to keep its eight-game home winning streak alive. The game will be shown live on the SEC Network and WatchESPN with Brenda VanLangen and former Duke and Texas head coach Gail Goestenkors on the call. The game also can be heard live on the UK Radio Network with Neil Price.

Single-game reserved tickets are available at a cost of $9 for all ages. General admission tickets for adults are $8 while single-game general admission tickets for seniors and children (ages 6-18, 65 and over) are only $5.
Children ages five and under are admitted free in the general admission seating area and UK students, faculty and staff are admitted free with valid identification.

Sunday will mark the fourth meeting between the teams but the first since 1988. UK met Belmont twice in 1976 and last played host to the Bruins on Jan. 18, 1988 in Memorial, winning 79-75.
Kentucky (9-1) is coming off a hard-fought 78-62 win over Middle Tennessee on Friday night. Despite a season-high 28 turnovers, the Wildcats had one of their better shooting nights, hitting 48.4 percent from the field (30-of-62) and 72.2 percent from the free throw line (13-of-18). Senior Jennifer O’Neill (Bronx, N.Y.) led with 22 points, while Makayla Epps (Lebanon, Ky.) came off the bench for 12 points and six assists, her eighth straight game in double-digit scoring. Freshman center Alexis Jennings (Madison, Ala.) also came off the bench to record a career-high 11 points all in the first half. She added a career-best seven rebounds and two blocks in the game.
Overall, O’Neill leads four Wildcats in double-figure scoring with 16.2 points per game which ranks fifth in the Southeastern Conference. Epps follows with 14.3 ppg, while sophomore guard Linnae Harper (Chicago) and junior point guard Janee Thompson (Chicago) add 10.8 and 10.4 ppg, respectively. UK’s leading rebounder is 6-foot-3 center Azia Bishop with 6.6 per game, but Harper, a 5-8 guard, follows close behind with 6.5 rpg. Harper has grabbed eight rebounds in two straight games.
The Cats are 390-144 (73.0) in Memorial Coliseum, including 100-16 (86.2) under Coach Matthew Mitchell. UK is 5-0 at home this season, 4-0 in Memorial. UK has won 48 consecutive regular season non-conference games in Memorial Coliseum, dating back to Dec. 19, 2008 vs. Alabama A&M. UK’s current eight-game home winning streak ties for the 10th-longest in program history.
Belmont (2-6), located in Nashville, Tenn., and members of the Ohio Valley Conference, enters the contest after a 60-48 loss to Chattanooga on Thursday at home. The Bruins’ two wins were against Denver and crosstown rival Lipscomb.
Sophomore Frankie Joubran and senior Jordyn Luffman-Hartsfield are averaging a team-high 12.3 points per game apiece this season. Joubran is also pulling down a team-best 10.4 rebounds per game.
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION
Due to events at the Singletary Center on UK’s campus at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, UK Athletics encourages all UK Hoops fans to arrive early and utilize the free parking garages/shuttles, Parking Structure #5 (South Limestone Garage) next to Kennedy’s Bookstore and the Transit Center Garage on High Street. A voucher is NOT required for exit at Parking Structure #5 on Sunday.
When parking in the Transit Center, pull a yellow token from the dispenser and keep in your vehicle. See the event staff attendant at the entrance near Lexington Avenue/High Street to receive a free parking voucher before the game. When exiting the garage after the game, place your yellow token in the machine, then scan the barcode on your free parking voucher to exit.
Handicap parking is available in the E-Lot (Employee Lot) north of the Craft Center, adjacent to the metered spaces running along the frontage of the Craft Center with a valid, state issued handicap tag. These spaces (typically 20-30 stalls) are available on a first-come, first-serve basis until full.
Please note: parking is prohibited in any R (Residential) lots. Vehicles parking in Residential lots without a proper permit, along yellow curbs, grass spaces, or other non-specified and unapproved areas may be subject to ticket and/or tow.
Shuttle Information:
- Free shuttle services are available beginning 1.5 hours prior to tip off from the South Limestone Garage located off Limestone and Upper Street and the Transit Center Parking Garage located off High Street and Vine Street.
- Parking Structure # 5 (blue route) picks up/drops off on Administration Drive, at the end of the pedestrian sky bridge accessed from the 3rd floor of the parking garage.
- Transit Center Parking Garage (green route) picks up/drops off near the corner of High Street and Martin Luther King. See event staff in the area for assistance.
- Shuttles will start back up at halftime and continue until 1 hour post-game to return guests to their parking areas.
