LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky freshman running back Stanley “Boom” Williams has been tabbed an honorable mention all-purpose performer of the week by the College Football Performance Awards, it was announced.

A native of Monroe, Ga., Williams was tabbed as an honorable mention selection in the weekly CFPA. Williams rushed 10 times for 100 yards and a touchdown on Saturday vs. No. 17 Georgia, returning five kickoffs for 135 yards and finishing with 236 total all-purpose yards.

In his collegiate debut, Williams has rushed for a team-leading 361 yards on 52 carries, with three touchdowns, also owning a 6.9 yard per carry average. Williams also has 14 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown and has amassed 375 kick-return yards. Williams is averaging 110.6 all-purpose yards per game.

After taking a 56-yard carry for a touchdown vs. UGA, Williams became one of nine players in college football to have at least three 50+ yard rushes for touchdowns. Williams is the first freshman to rush for at least 100 yards in a game twice since his position coach, Chad Scott, did in 2000.

Kentucky (5-5, 2-5 Southeastern Conference) will return to action on Saturday, traveling to face Tennessee in its final league test of the year, with kickoff slated for 4 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.

UK Alumni Association Announces Tailgate in Knoxville: The UK Alumni Association invites alumni and fans to a pregame tailgate event at McClung Museum on Saturday prior to the Kentucky – Tennessee football game. The museum is located at 1327 Circle Park Drive in Knoxville.

The tailgate buffet will feature items from Calhoun’s, including barbecue, wings, baked beans, potato salad, spinach and artichoke dip, cheese tray and chocolate chip cookies. A cash bar will be available. Cost to attend is $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers and $5 for students. This includes admission to the event and pregame meal. Children 10 and under are admitted free. A limited number of walk-ups will be taken at the event but only while food supplies last. Register for the event at www.ukalumni.net/tennesseetailgate.
