UK Rifle Up a Spot to No. 2 in Latest Rankings

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky rifle team moved up a spot to No. 2 nationally in the newest Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association Coaches Poll, which was released on Tuesday.
The Wildcats were ranked third in the preseason poll, but moved up a spot after topping 14th-ranked Akron, 4686-4615, two weeks ago in the season-opener.
UK will face two ranked opponents on the road this weekend.
The Wildcats face 12th-ranked Navy in Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 25. UK competes the next day vs. No. 17 NC State in Lexington, Virginia.
UK’s 2014-15 schedule is among the strongest in the nation, as UK faces 13 teams currently ranked in the CRCA poll. The Wildcats already boast a win over No. 14 Akron.
The Wildcats will host top-ranked and defending national champion West Virginia on Feb. 7, 2015.
