LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team travels to Wilmette, Ill. to participate in the Windy City Classic, one of the strongest tournaments in the country to date this season. It marks the first time in program history the Wildcats have participated in the 36-hole tournament.

Hosted by Northwestern from Oct. 6-7, the field of 15 features eight teams ranked in Golfweek’s top 50, including four in the top 10.

“We are excited to play in this event for the first time,” head coach Golda Johansson Borst said. “This is one of the best tournaments in the country with a strong field and we are getting to play one of the best courses in Chicago. This is going to be a great challenge for our team and this is also our first time playing 36-18 this season so we need to make sure we stay patient yet play aggressive all day.”

Kentucky’s lineup for the Windy City will feature junior Sarah Harris, sophomores Haley Mills and Megan Kinney, junior Cylia Damerau and sophomore Ale Walker.

The Wildcats are coming off a ninth place finish in their last outing at the Mason Rudolph Championship where Mills posted a 16th place finish, her second top 20 finish this season.

In addition to host school and fifth ranked Northwestern, which is coming off its second 15th-place NCAA Championships finish in a row, the Windy City features third ranked Arizona, seventh ranked USC, 10th ranked Oklahoma State, No. 30 Ohio State, No. 42 Wisconsin, No. 45 Miami and No. 50 Minnesota. Rounding out the field of 15 in addition to UK are Georgia, Iowa State, New Mexico, Oregon, Purdue and Tulane.

The teams will compete in 36 holes of play beginning with an 8:30 a.m. ET tee times off both the front and back nines on Monday, Oct. 6, before playing the final 18 holes in the same manner on Tuesday.
