FRANKLIN, Tenn. – On the strength of Sarah Harris’ career low three under 69, the University of Kentucky women’s golf team closed out the second day of competition at the Mason Rudolph Championship up a spot in eighth place (+22), carding an 11-over 299.
Harris tied her career low after hitting birdies on holes eight, nine and 11, ending the second day at three under 69 and in 36th place.
Haley Mills remained in the top 30 at 27th after shooting a three over 75. Mills is now four over after two rounds with a 148.
Cylia Damerau sits in 32nd after firing a three over 75 and is five over 149 after two days.
Grace Rose shot a 10 over 82 and is at 12 over 156 for the tournament, while Ale Walker shot an eight over 80 and is 14 over 158 after two days.
Playing as an individual, Megan Kinney shot an eight over 80 and is 15 over 158 after the second day.
“I was proud of how our girls battled today,” head coach Gold Johansson Borst said. “The golf course showed it’s teeth and we maintained our composure throughout a tough day! We’re looking forward to getting back on the course tomorrow to create some more opportunities.”
Host school Vanderbilt sits atop the standings at five-under par, 571, while LSU (+1), Mississippi State (+8), GRU Augusta (+10) and Auburn (+14) complete the top five.
Rounding out the rest of the standings were Chattanooga (+15), Virginia (+19), Lamar and Princeton (+23), Michigan State and Alabama (+26), Tulane (+32), Vanderbilt-B (+34) and Clemson (+35).
