ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Junior David Snyder fired an opening round even-par, 71, to lead the Kentucky men’s golf team in the first round of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate on Saturday. Play was suspended in the midst of the second round and will resume on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
The teams were set to play 36 holes today with a final round of 18 on Sunday, but storms in the Zionsville, Ind., area halted action.
Snyder was Kentucky’s top performer through the first 18 holes of competition, carding a 71 to begin the tournament and sitting in a tie for third place overall on the player leaderboard. He led the Wildcats to an eighth place standing with a 15-over par, 299.
Illinois fired a 285 to lead all teams. Florida (295), Chattanooga (295), Houston (296), Miami (OH) (297) and Eastern Michigan (297) rounded out the top five.
Freshman Tyler `Chip’ McDaniel and junior Harrison Greenberry opened with a 75 to sit in a tie for 23rd overall. Freshman Cooper Musselman turned in a 78, while sophomore Stephen Stallings earned an 82 during the opening round of action.
Senior Will Bishop led UK’s individual players with a 77 to earn a tie for 45th.
Play will resume at 9:30 a.m. ET with the players resuming action in round No. 2. The third round will begin immediately following the conclusion of the second round’s action.
