LEXINGTON, Ky.  – As head coach Carlos Drada enters his 10th season, the University of Kentucky women’s tennis program unveiled its 2014-15 schedule Tuesday, which features 14 home matches and 13 contests against Southeastern Conference foes.

“We are looking forward to a great season,” Drada said. “We have prepared a very competitive schedule geared towards our team’s continued growth. We are fortunate to be at the University of Kentucky where our players can compete against the nation’s best.”

The fall slate features eight events, all on the road, highlighted by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals, Oct. 17-21 in Knoxville, Tenn., and the ITA National Indoors in Flushing, N.Y.

The season’s first match will be the Minnesota Fall Invitational, Sept. 19-22, in Minneapolis, Minn., and the Amelia Island 10K Sept. 19-25, in Amelia Island, Fla. UK then will travel to the Northwestern Invitational Sept. 26-28 and the All-Americans, Sept. 27-Oct. 5 in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The Wildcats will also compete at the Tennessee Fall Classic, Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Knoxville, and the Dick Vitale Tournament in Sarasota, Fla., on Nov. 7-9 to conclude the fall.

The 2015 spring schedule begins in Evanston, Ill., where Kentucky will face Rice on Jan. 24 before it squares off against either Northwestern or Arizona State the following day.

UK returns home for their first home match of the season, a non-conference showdown with Penn State, on Jan. 31 at noon ET. UK then hosts Illinois and Northern Kentucky three days later, on Feb. 3, at noon and 6 p.m., respectively.

The Wildcats hit the road for the ITA Team Indoors Feb. 6-9 in Charlottesville, Va., should they qualify, in addition to a match at Marshall on Feb. 7.

Kentucky is back home Feb. 15 for a doubleheader against Tulane at noon and Eastern Kentucky at 6 p.m., followed by a trip to California to face San Diego on Feb. 20 and San Diego State on Feb. 22.

SEC play commences on Feb. 27, when UK hosts Ole Miss. The homestand continues March 1 vs. Mississippi State and concludes on March 6 against Vanderbilt. All three home matches will begin at 10 a.m. ET.

After a roadtrip to Georgia on March 13 and Tennessee on March 15, the Wildcats are back home at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex. Kentucky welcomes Arkansas on March 20 and Missouri on March 22, with both home matches scheduled for a 10 a.m. first serve.

Another two-match road swing, to Alabama on March 27 and Auburn on March 29 is followed by UK’s final home series of the season. UK hosts Florida on April 3 and South Carolina on April 5, both at 10 a.m.

The regular season concludes at LSU on April 10 and at Texas A&M on April 12 before postseason competition begins at the SEC Tournament, April 14-19, in Columbia, S.C.

NCAA Tournament action begins May 8-10 with the NCAA Regionals and concludes with the NCAA Team Championships, May 14-20, and the NCAA Singles/Doubles Championships, May 21-25, in Waco, Texas.
