ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Through two rounds of play at the Southeastern Conference Championship, the University of Kentucky men’s golf team is in ninth place with a total team score of 11-over par, 571. The Wildcats carded a 4-over par, 284, during Saturday’s second round at the Sea Island Golf Club. Final round play begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m. ET.

No. 1 Alabama sits atop the standings at 22-under par, 538, while Auburn (-5), No. 24 South Carolina (-5), No. 22 LSU (-1) and No. 6 Georgia (+1) complete the top five. Alabama’s Bobby Wyatt is at the top of the player leaderboard at 14-under par, 126.

Rounding out the rest of the team standings were No. 21 Arkansas (+7), Missouri (+8), Mississippi State (+8), UK (+11), Florida (+13), No. 16 Texas A&M (+14), No. 15 Vanderbilt (+16), Tennessee (+19) and Ole Miss (+25).

“We are putting pressure on the golf course and knocking on the door,” said Kentucky head coach Brian Craig. “I like what I am seeing but we need to finish it off a little better. I look for our boys to come out firing tomorrow and finish this event strong.”

Junior David Snyder was one of the four Wildcats to shoot a 1-over par, 71, on Saturday, as he continues to lead all UK players at even par, 140, through two rounds. Snyder will enter the final round tied for 15th and looking for his fourth top 10 finish of the season.

Senior Ben Stow sits just two strokes back at 2-over par, 142 (71-71) and tied for 24th. Stow collected three birdies on day two, giving him five through 36 holes. In a tie for 43rd is senior Stephen Powers at 5-over par, 145 (74-71). The Naperville, Ill., native finished three birdies in the round, after recording three during the first round as well.

Senior Cody Martin will enter Sunday’s final round tied for 47th at 6-over par, 146 (75-71). Martin improved by four strokes on day two after a 75 on Friday. Sophomore Harrison Greenberry posted a 9-over par, 79, on Saturday and currently sits in a tie for 62nd at 12-over par, 152.
