LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 30 University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will finish its 2014 regular season on the road, first traveling to Columbia, S.C., Friday afternoon to face off with No. 35 University of South Carolina and then heading to Gainesville, Fla., to take on No. 11 University of Florida.

Friday’s match against USC will begin at 5 p.m. ET, with Sunday’s match against Florida slated to begin at 1 p.m. ET.

Kentucky (15-8, 5-6 SEC) enters the weekend ranked 30th in the nation as it was announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association earlier this week. Kentucky boasts three ranked doubles teams, topped by No. 45 Cece Witten and Caitlin McGraw. This is the first time the senior duo has been ranked. Freshman Aldila Sutjiadi and her partner sophomore Nadia Ravita check in at No. 62 with junior Kelsey Dieters and Witten capping off the rankings at No. 87. Ravita is the only Wildcat ranked in singles at No. 57.

Entering Friday’s match, South Carolina is 14-8 and 5-6 in the SEC and jumped nine spots in the latest ITA rankings. In their last outing, the Gamecocks blanked Mississippi State, 4-0, in Starkville extending their win streak to four matches. After a 2-0 weekend on the road, USC will return to Columbia where it holds an 11-3 record. Kentucky will look to even the score against the Gamecocks who hold a 17-16 edge in all-time wins.

Florida (17-4, 9-2 SEC) is Kentucky’s fifth top 25 opponent in the last seven matches and will present a challenge for the Wildcats. Florida has six ranked singles players and five ranked doubles pairs. The Gators have only dropped two matches in conference play and four matches all season.  Florida will play No. 5 Vanderbilt before facing the Wildcats on Sunday.
