LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf team concludes the 2013-14 regular season with a trip to Oxford, Miss., for the second consecutive season, in the Rebel Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament begins Friday, April 4 and wraps up Sunday, April 6 at the Ole Miss Golf Course.

Last Time Out:
The Wildcats are coming off a third place finish at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic, where UK posted a team score of 35-over par, 899. Freshman Haley Mills recorded her third top 15 finish of the season by placing seventh with a four-over par, 220. Senior Liz Breed and sophomore Sarah Harris tied for 13th and 17th, respectively. Breed finished with an eight-over par, 224, while Harris scored a 10-over par, 226.

Breed leads the team with a season scoring average of 73.57 and two top 10 finishes. Mills ranks second with a 73.52 scoring average and two top 10 finishes as well. As a team, Kentucky has four top five finishes through seven tournaments.

About the Rebel Intercollegiate:
This marks the second consecutive season that UK will compete in the Rebel Intercollegiate. The Wildcats placed fifth last season, led by Breed’s eighth place finish. Eighteen holes will be played Friday through Sunday, with fixed tee times on hole No. 1 and No. 10 starting at 9:51 a.m. ET each day. The final round on Sunday will begin with a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m. The Ole Miss Golf Course will feature a par-72, 6,313-yard setup.

The Field:
Joining the Wildcats in Oxford are Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, East Tennessee State, Furman, GRU Augusta, Harvard, Kennesaw State, Memphis, Murray State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Samford, South Florida, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Texas State and Tulane.

Coach Borst Quotables:
“We are excited to head to Ole Miss to compete this weekend,” said Kentucky head coach Golda Johansson Borst. “We have had a good week of practice and look forward to playing tournament golf again. This golf course is very different from the last two courses that we have played and I believe it will suit our team well.”
