LEXINGTON, Ky. – Fresh off its ninth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Kentucky volleyball team is set to hit the hardwood for the 2014 spring schedule beginning March 29. UK will play in four successive weekends which includes a home contest vs. Ohio State on April 12.
Kentucky opens the 2014 spring schedule with a round robin tournament in Louisville on March 29. UK will play in the OVVC Spring College Tournament hosted by KIVA, a tournament the Wildcats participate in nearly every spring season.
The following weekend sees the Wildcats traveling to Indianapolis for the Indy Collegiate Invite hosted by Circle City.
The highlight of the spring schedule is Kentucky’s home contest with Ohio State on April 12 at 3 p.m. ET. The match will cap off the annual Coaches Clinic.
Kentucky will conclude action on April 19 with a head-to-head matchup against Illinois in Champaign, Ill.
UK returns 11 players to the 2014 roster following another successful season in 2013 including six players who started multiple matches for UK in 2013 in Morgan Bergren, Jackie Napper, Lauren O’Conner, Sara Schwarzwalder, Anni Thomasson and Kelsey Wolf. O’Conner returns as UK’s most productive offensive player with 825 career kills, while Napper is 21 digs shy of 1,000 for her career.
