The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will participate in the sixth-annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kick-Off weekend beginning Jan. 24 hosted by Duke University in Durham, N.C.
No. 42 Kentucky, coming off of a two-match win streak, will look to expand on that when they face No. 53 Tulane on Friday at 1:30 p.m. ET. The winner of the match will take on either Duke or Columbia in the championship for a berth in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
The Wildcats will look for the same dominant performances that beat Cincinnati 7-0 and Ball State 4-2 on Saturday in the season opener. Kentucky’s decisive win over Cincinnati started with No. 56 Cece Witten and Kelsey Dieters winning in the No. 1 doubles position. Freshman Aldila Sutjiadi led the charge in the singles competition with her first career win in the No. 1 singles position. Kentucky’s tempo slowed against Ball state dropping two singles matches, but Senior Caitlin McGraw clinched the win and Kentucky moved 2-0 on the season.
Live stats will be provided for all matches, however live video will only be provided for matches Duke is participating in. Live stats can be found on www.GoDuke.com.
