ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Four Wildcats finished in the top 20 to help the University of Kentucky men’s golf team finish third at the Wolf Run Invitational with a total score of 30-over par, 882.

Kentucky turned in a final round of 10-over par, 294 on Sunday to give the Wildcats their second top-five finish of the season. Illinois was the lone team to finish under-par for the whole tournament at eight-under to easily win the team title, followed by Auburn in second (+25).

“Overall, we played pretty average this week,” said Kentucky head coach Brian Craig. “Wolf Run will expose your weaknesses and help you get better if you learn from your mistakes. We will improve from playing this type of golf course as we go forward. Congratulations to Illinois for one of the better performances I have seen in college golf.”

The final team standings were filled out with Minnesota (+42), Indiana (+44), Miami (OH) (+50), Toledo (+53), Wisconsin (+54), Ohio (+60), IUPUI (+64), Illinois State (+79), Oakland (+80), IPFW (+102) and Northern Illinois (+116).

Leading the way for Kentucky was a pair of seniors in Stephen Powers and Ben Stow. Powers and Stow finished in a tie for ninth at seven-over par, 220. Stow turned in an even-par round of 71, while Powers had a final round of four-over, 75.

Junior David Snyder tied Stow for the low round of the day with an even-par, 71. Snyder finished tied for 13th place at eight-over par. Senior Cody Martin rounded the Wildcat performers in the top 20, tied for 16th at nine-over par. Martin turned a scorecard of seven-over par, 78 on the final 18 holes.

Sophomore Harrison Greenberry had his best round of the weekend Sunday with a six-over, 77. Greenberry tied for 62nd at 28-over par.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Todd McDaniel came in 55th at 24-over par. McDaniel posted a seven-over par, 78 on the final 18 holes.
