LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Alexandra Morgan has been selected to participate in the Bring it Promotions/USA to China, Challenge Invitational from June 14-27 in Shanghai and Beijing, China. Morgan and a team of 11 other collegiate players will suit up for a two-week invitational.

“I’m so excited,” Morgan said. “Any opportunity to improve my game is a great one; not only because it will make me better, but it will make my team better as well. I’m really looking forward to great competition and a great cultural experience.”

In addition to playing six matches, the team will have the opportunity to explore two of China’s most renowned cities in Beijing and Shanghai.

The trip begins with training and team bonding in Anaheim, Calif., on June 14 and 15 before the team travels to Shanghai on June 17. Opening ceremonies and the first match of the invitational is set for June 19. The final match is slated for June 25 and the team will return to the United States on June 27.

Morgan twice earned Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week accolades after leading the Wildcats with 132 blocks during its 2012 Sweet 16 run. She also logged a .347 hitting percentage during her junior campaign which ranked as the seventh best single-season mark in school history.

Kentucky will open up the 2013 season Aug. 30 in Long Beach, Calif., with a matchup against Florida State.
