LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Kentucky track and field teams will compete for border state bragging rights at the fourth annual Border Battle “Kentuckiana” on Saturday.

Teams from Kentucky will face off against a pair of squads from Indiana at Cardinal Park Track Stadium.

The meet will be scored state versus state, with Kentucky and Louisville’s combined scores going up against the total score compiled by Indiana and Notre Dame.

Field events are slated to begin at 10:30 a.m. ET, with running events getting under way at 1p.m. ET.

Kentucky and Louisville defeated Indiana and Notre Dame in the first ever Border Battle “Kentuckiana” in 2010. The Indiana sides have claimed the meet each of the past two seasons.

Four Wildcats, including the women’s 4×100-meter relay teams are defending event champions at the meet.

Andrew Evans won the Border Battle Discus in 2012, and his top 2013 mark ranks No. 4 in the nation.

Kayla Parker, whose season-best 100-meter hurdles time is eighth-best in the nation this season, is slated to defend her event title this weekend.

As of Friday afternoon at least one Kentucky competitor will be entered in 30 of the 39 scheduled events on Saturday.
