OXFORD, Miss. – After the second round of play at the M&F Bank Rebel Intercollegiate, the University of Kentucky women’s golf team sits in eighth place at 17-over-par. The Wildcats were 14-over-par on Saturday and look to finish strong in their final round of the 54-hole tournament on Sunday.
For the second consecutive day, seniors Ashleigh Albrecht and Heather Lott posted the low score for the Wildcats, shooting a 2-over-par, 74 on Saturday.
Albrecht recorded a team-high four birdies on the afternoon, including three on the back nine. The Murrieta, Calif., native is 2-over for the tournament and is tied for 13th overall on the leaderboard.
Lott was equally impressive as Albrecht with one birdie on the day and an eagle on the par-5 hole No. 15 to highlight her afternoon. The Baton Rouge, La., native is also tied for 13th at 2-over-par.
Senior Megan Moir was 4-over-par on the day, charting a team-best 14 pars on Saturday. Moir is 10-over for the event and is tied for 63rd.
Freshman Sarah Harris and senior Betsie Johnson were both 6-over on Saturday with both tallying two birdies. Johnson (+7) is tied for 36th, while Harris (+8) is tied for 49th.
Junior Liz Breed, who is competing as an individual, shot a 1-over-par, 73 for the second straight day and is tied for 13th at 2-over par for the tournament.
