AUSTIN, Texas and CINCINNATI – Rebecca Famurewa won the Texas Relays Discus Championship, setting the UK freshman record with a mark of 53.22 meters/ 174 feet 7 inches in the process on Saturday.

Famurewa’s mark also ties the fourth best in school history,

The UK freshman thrower’s banner day was the highlight in Austin, while a pair of Wildcats claimed event titles at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on the Cincinnati campus.

Hiruni Wijayaratne won the women’s 1500 meters with a personal record time of 4:34.94. Megan Wright: also claimed third in the same event with a time of 4:35.95.

Sean Keane won the Nikoloff 800 meters with a time of 1:51.52.

Michelle Canterna missed the school record pole vault by half an inch as she cleared 3.85 meters/ 12’07.50” to take fourth at the Nikoloff.

Kayla Parker lowered her personal-best 100-meter hurdles performance for the second day in a row at the Texas Relays. Her time of 13.20 was good for fifth place in the final, and was the second fastest time in UK history.

Keith Hayes claimed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles final with a time of 13.66, which ranks No 2 in the school record book.

The women’s 4×100-meter relay team of Tamyah Pipkin, Morganne Phillips, Kayla Parker & Keilah Tyson posted a final time of 44.80, which is third-fastest in UK history, placing seventh.
