LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kayla Hartley and Alexis Gross have been named to the All-Southeastern Conference gymnastics team, the league announced Monday evening.

Both earned All-SEC honors for the first time in their careers. They are the first Wildcats to earn All-SEC honors since Michelle Gales in 2005.

The Wildcat duo produced some of the top performances during last weekend’s SEC Championship session I to garner the accolades.

The All-SEC Team is comprised of athletes with the top two scores (including ties) on each event and the all-around from the first and second sessions of the SEC Championship.

Gross notched a 9.825 on uneven bars at the SEC Championship, which tied for highest score among competitor from all four teams competing during session I.

Hartley earned the second highest scores during session I on both floor exercise and bars with a career-high 9.9 and a 9.8 respectively. Hartley has won five event titles this season, and her 9.9 at the SEC Championship was her third such floor score this season.

Gross earned SEC Specialist of the Week for the week of March 18 after career-high event-winning scores on both bars and balance beam at Penn State.

Hartley was named to the SEC Community Service Team earlier this season.

Kentucky was recently selected to its 25

overall and ninth-straight NCAA Regional, which will be held in Morgantown, W.Va., on Saturday, April 6.
