LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Gymnastics team will look to continue the momentum built in last week’s record-setting team performance when the Wildcats host Bowling Green on Friday inside Memorial Coliseum at 7 p.m. ET.
The meet will be Senior Night with Caitlyn Ciokajlo, Caitlin Satkowiak and Courtney Ehrler being honored in their final home competition.
The Wildcats (6-4-1, 3-3-1 SEC) finished with a total score of 196.5, highest in school history, last Sunday in a victory at Ball State.
With the win at Ball State, Kentucky posted a team score of more than 196 two weeks in a row for the first time ever.
Kentucky checked in at No. 20 in the latest GymInfo national poll, up a spot from a week ago.
The rankings are based on teams’ regional qualifying score, and Kentucky’s March 4 RQS of 195.635 is a new school record.
The Wildcats’ previous RQS school-record was 195.6, set in 2010.
Junior Audrey Harrison continued her great season, as she won her Southeastern Conference-leading seventh all-around title of the season with a career-high score of 39.425. The Knoxville, Tenn., native has now won five AAs in a row.
Harrison also tied to win the vault crown with the first 9.9 score in the event of her career. She is tied for the SEC lead with 15 total event titles this season.
Harrison has garnered a 9.9 five times on all events this season.
Junior Holly Cunningham is also riding a hot streak as she has earned a career high-score in her past four events over the most recent two meets.
Cunningham was especially clutch at Ball State, scoring her first-career 9.9 on vault before clinching the team-score record with a 9.875 to anchor on beam, when she needed just a 9.75 to get the team school-record. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native tied for the event title on vault and beam last Sunday, as she now has three event wins this season.
The Wildcats are rated No. 16 on uneven bars, No. 13 on balance beam and No. 23 on floor exercise nationally.
Bowling Green has posted two scores above 194.5 in their last two meets. Megan Harrington has recorded the three best all-around scores of her career in the Falcons’ last three meets.
