LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s track and field team checked in at No. 20 in this week’s national indoor rankings, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Tuesday.
The Wildcats are ranked in the top 25 for the first time this indoor season, up eight spots from last week.
Kentucky will send four women’s competitors to this weekend’s NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
Cally Macumber and Chelsea Oswald qualified for the NCAA Championships in both the 3,000 meters and the distance medley relay. Macumber and Oswald rank Nos. 3 and 10 respectively in the 3K.
They are joined on the DMR team by Allison Peare and Morganne Phillips, and that quartet is ranked No. 6 in the nation.
The NCAA Indoor Championships will begin Friday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m. ET inside the Randal Tyson Track Center.
The women’s distance medley relay final will get under way at 9:45 p.m. ET.
The women’s 3K final will go at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 9.
