LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s tennis team will host a tripleheader on Tuesday at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex, facing Eastern Kentucky at 10 a.m., Northern Kentucky at 1 p.m. and Abilene Christian at 6 p.m.
The Wildcats enter Tuesday’s matches 6-2 on the year, coming off three consecutive wins, including two over ranked opponents. Kentucky recently knocked off the Miami RedHawks 5-2, winning the doubles point and the No. 1, 2, 4 and 6 singles matches.
The Colonels of Eastern Kentucky are 5-3 on the year, dropping their last match 2-4 at No. 58 Georgia State. Prior to their loss at Georgia State, the Colonels knocked off in-state opponent Louisville, 4-2. UK and EKU have two common opponents on the year, the Miami RedHawks and Ohio State. EKU fell 0-7 to Ohio State and defeated Miami 5-2.
Northern Kentucky travels to Lexington with an 0-2 record on the year, falling 0-7 to Wright State and 1-6 to Western Kentucky.
Abilene Christian is 7-1 thus far in the season, with the lone loss coming to Northwestern State. The Wildcats have won six consecutive matches.
