BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Five of the University of Kentucky gymnastics team’s Southeastern Conference meets plus the SEC Championships will be televised during 2013, the league office announced on Monday.

“The fact that UK Gymnastics will be featured on TV five times in duel competitions this year and again at SEC’s is a huge positive for our program,” head coach Tim Garrison said. “In addition to these events, we have been informed that it is likely our season opener against Cal, Arizona and Auburn will be televised live also.  We are thrilled about the exposure for our program to potential recruits and gymnastics audiences around the country.”

All SEC TV meets will be broadcast on a delayed basis.

The Wildcats will appear on the ESPN family of networks a total of three times. Kentucky’s Feb. 15 home meet against Missouri will air on ESPNU Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The SEC Championships, which take place March 23, will be shown on ESPNU March 28 and on ESPN March 30.

Kentucky’s home opener on Jan. 18 against Arkansas will be televised on Fox Sports Net (SportSouth, FS Midwest, FS Southwest and Sun Sports) Jan. 26. The Jan. 25 Alabama meet will be broadcast on the same network on Feb. 2.

The Georgia (Feb. 8) and Florida (Feb. 22) meets will be shown on CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast), with the dates for those transmissions yet to be determined.

Combined, the networks will broadcast 18 SEC gymnastics meets this season, in addition to the SEC Championship. Six meets will be distributed nationally by ESPN. Fox Sports Net will televise eight contests while CSS will broadcast five meets.

Fans will be able to access the ESPN and ESPN2 telecasts through their mobile devices on WatchESPN.
