Dermontti Dawson Day honors the former UK standout offensive lineman who was a recent Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee. Dawson, who played at Kentucky from 1984-87, will be on hand for the game, including signing autographs in the Wildcat Refuge two hours before kickoff. Dawson will also be honored on the field during the game, while the first 10,000 fans in the stadium will receive a Dermontti Dawson rally towel.

Kentucky is coming off a weather-shortened 49-7 loss last weekend at Arkansas with the game being terminated after two suspensions of play due to lightning. UK scored its lone points of the game before the second suspension when true freshman quarterback Jalen Whitlow connected with senior wide receiver La’Rod King for a 61-yard touchdown.

The touchdown reception for King was the 17th of his career, tying Steve Meilinger for fifth place on the UK career list. King has 1,569 receiving yards in his career, moving past Anthony White for seventh place on the UK career list. King leads UK in receiving this season with 31 catches for 351 yards and four touchdowns to rank tied for eighth in the league in receptions per game.

Junior linebacker Avery Williamson continues to lead the UK defense with 68 tackles this season, ranking him third in the conference. Sophomore Bud Dupree is second on the team with 49 tackles, while he has 6.5 tackles for loss to rank tied for 15th in the conference.

Cat Scratches: UK expecting Georgia to be ready on heels of loss, bye

The Georgia Bulldogs entered a matchup with South Carolina ranked in the top five and hoping to declare themselves contenders for both the Southeastern Conference and national championship. Instead, the Gamecocks delivered their best performance of the season, sending Georgia home with a 35-7 loss, its first of the season.

A bye week followed the defeat, meaning Bulldogs haven’t been able to do much other than practice and stew over the loss as they awaited their next chance to hit the field. That next chance will come this weekend when Kentucky plays host to Georgia. The Wildcats expect to have a hungry team on their hands… read the full preview

Scouting Georgia

No. 12/13 Georgia enters Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday coming off a bye week. The Bulldogs are 5-1 this season and 3-1 in SEC play.
