BIRMINGHAM, Ala., — Cally Macumber was named Southeastern Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second time in-a-row, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Macumber, a junior in cross country, placed eighth overall at the NCAA Pre-National Meet this past weekend in Louisville, Ky., to lead all SEC runners.

The Rochester Hills, Mich., native’s 6K time of 20:09.0 at Pre-Nationals currently ranks as the best time in the conference this season at that distance.

She finished inside the top 25 alongside teammate Chelsea Oswald to help ensure UK was one of only two unranked teams with multiple top-25 performers at Pre-Nationals.

Macumber and Oswald led Kentucky to 12th-place overall in Louisville.  Each of the teams that finished ahead of Kentucky are either ranked or receiving votes in this week’s USTFCCCA poll.

Macumber was previously named SEC Athlete of the Week on Oct. 2, the last time the award was given out.
