Lexington, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s golf programs have paired up to host the inaugural Wildcat Golf Day on  Friday, Sept. 28. The fundraiser will consist of a golf scramble, where each team will be accompanied by a UK player or coach.

The event will take place at the University Club of Kentucky and is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. with registration and lunch. The start time is slated for 1:00 p.m. and will wrap up around 6:00 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres being served.

“We are excited to join our women’s golf program and host the inaugural Wildcat Golf Day on Friday, September 28th,” head men’s golf coach Brian Craig said. “It will be held on the beautiful Big Blue course at the University Club of Kentucky.  This event will not only help us enhance both golf programs here at Kentucky but is also a great opportunity for our student-athletes to interact and play golf with some of our loyal Big Blue supporters.  There are not many sports where you can actually compete with a currently enrolled student-athlete and enjoy an afternoon on the links.  It should be a wonderful day for Kentucky Golf.”

Among the notable attendees include former Wildcat golfers and current PGA Tour professionals, Steve Flesch and J.B. Holmes. Flesch graduated from UK in 1990 and has four PGA Tour victories, including three top-10 finishes in major tournaments. Holmes, in his senior season, led UK to its lone SEC championship in 2005. He has won two FBR Open titles on the PGA Tour and was a member of the 2008 Ryder Cup championship team.

Each team will consist of a four person scramble and will be $250 per person/$1,000 per team. For more information on the event, please call (859) 257-3718. Click the link at the top of the page to register for the event.
