Individual Notes

  • Sophomore QB Maxwell Smith completed a career-high 35 of 50 passes for 280 yards and equaled a career best two TDs. Smith completed passes to 11 different receivers. His 35 completions were one shy of Tim Couch’s 36 in the 1997 Governor’s Cup.
  • Senior WR La’Rod King caught eight passes for 77 yards and a TD. King has 1,295 receiving yards in his career, moving past Rick Kestner for 15th place on UK career list. He also has 14 receiving TDs in his career, tying Steve Johnson (14) for seventh on the UK career list.
  • Junior LB Avery Williamson totaled a career-high 12 tackles, including one forced fumble.
  • Senior DE Collins Ukwu has made at least one big play (QB sack, tackle for loss, fumble caused, fumble recovery or pass breakup) in six consecutive games. Ukwu finished the game with one tackle, one sack and a forced fumble.
  • Senior WR Aaron Boyd equaled a career best with three catches for a career-high 36 yards.
  • Sophomore LB Alvin “Bud” Dupree has made at least one big play (QB sack, tackle for loss, fumble caused, fumble recovery or pass breakup) in five consecutive games. Dupree finished the game with six total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
  • Redshirt-Freshman WR Daryl Collins made his first career reception on the opening drive of the game. Collins finished with a career-high seven catches for 64 yards.
  • Redshirt freshman WR Daryl Collins, sophomore TE Ronnie Shields and freshman OG Zach West earned their first career starts on offense.
  • Junior LB Avery Williamson, sophomore LB Tyler Brause, sophomore LB Miles Simpson and sophomore S Ashely Lowery earned their first starts on defense.
