LEXINGTON, Ky. – Fans will have a chance to get their first glimpse of the No. 13 Kentucky volleyball team Sunday, Aug. 19 as the Wildcats host the annual Blue/White scrimmage. Admission to the 6 p.m. ET event is free to the public.
Parking is available in E (Employee) lots adjacent to Memorial Coliseum including the North Craft lot accessible via Rose or Lexington Avenue and the Student Center lot located off of Avenue of Champions. The lot located between Martin Luther King and Lexington Ave., will be closed this weekend due to UK student move-in.
Doors to Memorial Coliseum will open one hour prior to first serve.
The team will compete in an inter-squad scrimmage for approximately one hour. This marks the first chance have to see the 2012 edition of the Kentucky volleyball team coming off a 28-6 and a Sweet 16 appearance a year ago.
The Blue and White will open regular season action by hosting the Kentucky Classic Aug. 24-25. Kentucky’s official start to the season is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 24 as the Wildcats host North Carolina.
Kentucky is one of just 16 teams in the nation to appear in seven consecutive NCAA Tournaments and have won 20 or more matches in four of the last five seasons. UK returns six starters, three All-Americans and seven letter winners from a season ago. Kentucky’s freshman class was rated as the 15th-best in the nation.
