LEXINGTON, Ky. –  University of Kentucky women’s golf rising seniors Betsie Johnson and Megan Moir were selected to the National Golf Coaches Association 2011-12 All-American Scholar Golf Teams for a second consecutive year, announced Friday by the NGCA offices in Coral Springs, Fla.

The NGCA selected a total of 585 women’s collegiate golfers spanning from Divisions I, II and III that meet the strict academic qualifications, including a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.

Moir, a native of Louisville, Ky., graduated in the spring with a 3.875 GPA after redshirting her first year on campus. Moir’s offseason has featured numerous awards, including receiving the Community Service Award at the annual “CATSPY” Awards and being named to the 2012 Southeastern Conference Golf Community Service team after dedicating more than 400 hours of her time in community service.

Moir competed in 21 rounds as a junior for Kentucky, finishing the season with an 81.19 scoring average and a round-low of 76.

Johnson, a native of Nicholasville, Ky., finished her junior year with a 3.688 GPA in elementary education. A second consecutive member of the All-Scholar team, Johnson also was named Academic All-SEC in 2011.

Johnson competed in all 10 events for the Wildcats on the year, posting the second lowest scoring average on the team at 76.90. With one top-10 finish and two in the top 20, Johnson posted her best finish in a tie for eighth at the Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational.
