LEXINGTON, Ky. – U.S.A. Swimming will hold its quad-annual U.S. Olympic Trials meet starting on June 25 and running through July 2, as the cut will be made for those eligible to compete at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England and represent the United States. Kentucky will have ten swimmers competing in 16 different events at the U.S. Olympic Trials as they all look to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team. 

Kentucky will have five current swimmers competing, while five former UK swimmers will also be looking to snag a spot in the London games as well.

Comprising the list of current UK swimmers are Christina Bechtel, Kristen Wilson, Megan Eppler, Maclin Simpson and Lee Duggins. The past UK swimmers are Tyler Reed, who graduated in 2012, Chatham Penrod, Jenny Bradford and Alex Forbes.

The Olympic Trials will run from June 25 to July 2 at the CenturyLink Center Omaha, in Omaha, Neb. The event will be broadcast live on national television, with the day sessions being carried by the NBC Sports Network and most night sessions telecasted on NBC. NBC will also serve as the official home of the 2012 Olympic Games for U.S. television.
