On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference league office announced the winners of its postseason awards. Kentucky, after a 2012 to remember, was prominently featured.UK’s Gary Henderson was named Coach of the the Year and center fielder Austin Cousino was the league’s freshman of the year. He also earned spots on the All-SEC Second Team, All-Defensive Team and All-Freshman Team. Catcher Luke Maile and starting pitcher Corey Littrell were also second-team honorees, while A.J. Reed was named to the All-Freshman team as a first baseman and a designated hitter/utililty player.Henderson talked about those awards and spent more time breaking down UK’s NCAA Tournament trip to Gary, Ind., which opens on Friday at 4 p.m. against Kent State in a session with the media. Henderson also announced on Tuesday he would start his normal rotation this weekend, beginning with Taylor Rogers on Friday. Here’s video.
