LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore thrower Isiah Kent led Kentucky on Saturday at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio, finishing second in the men’s discus and eighth in the shot put. The Kentucky men’s and women’s teams each finished 12th in the meet.

Kent was the Wildcats’ top points earner, recording eight points from his second-place discus finish, and one point from his eighth-place finish in the shot put. Kent threw the discus 49.61m/162-09, and the shot put 15.65m/51-04.25.

Freshman Bradley Szypka also compete in the shot put, finishing 12th with a mark of 14.71m/48-03.25.

Freshman Ryan Ratliff finished sixth in the men’s high jump with a mark of 1.88m/6-02.00. Ratliff’s performance earned the Cats three points. Fellow freshman Todd Nibbs finished ninth with a mark of 1.83m/6-00.00.

Junior Shelby Kennard tied for sixth in the women’s pole vault with a mark of 3.60m/11-09.75. Kennard was the lone woman at the meet for the Cats, earning Kentucky 2.5 points.
