  • Kentucky improves to 36-2, while Baylor ends its season at 30-8.

Team game notes

  • The Wildcats used the starting combination of Terrence Jones, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Doron Lamb, Anthony Davis and Marquis Teague for the 27th time this season. UK is 26-1 with that starting five.
  • Darius Miller was the first sub off the bench for UK. It was his 25th time as the Wildcat sixth man.
  • Kentucky extended its streak of games with a 3-pointer to 825 games, the third-longest streak in the country.
  • With nine blocked shots, the Wildcats pushed their NCAA record number of blocks to 326.
  • Trailing 10-5, Kentucky went on a 16-0 run over a 3:40 span to take a 21-10 lead.
  • Kentucky led 42-22 at the half. The Wildcats are 30-0 when leading at halftime.
  • UK held Baylor to 22 first-half points, the fewest by an opponent since holding Georgia to 19 on March 1.
  • It was also the fewest first half points by a UK opponent since allowing 16 to Cornell in the 2010 Sweet 16.
  • Kentucky has scored 80+ points in each game in the NCAA Tournament. The last school to do that in four straight games was Kentucky in the 1998 tournament. (Elias)
  • Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Doron Lamb were selected to the NCAA South Regional All-Tournament Team.
  • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was selected NCAA South Regional Most Outstanding Player, it marks the second straight season UK has had a player named MOP (Brandon Knight, 2011).

  • With 12 points, Jones moves to 54th on UK’s all-time scoring list with 1,049 career points.

#14 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

  • Tallied 17 first-half points, the eighth time this season he’s gone for double-digits in the first half.
  • Finished with 19 points and five rebounds.
  • Fouled out for the fifth time this season.

#20 Doron Lamb

  • With 14 points moved to within 14 points of his 1,000th career point.
  • Averaging 16.8 points in NCAA Tournament.

#23 Anthony Davis

  • Tallied 14 first-half points, the 10th time this season he’s gone for double-digits in the first half.
  • With six blocks, moved to sole possession of third on the NCAA all-time freshman block list with 175.
  • Broke the SEC single-season blocks list.
  • Averaging 14.5 points, 11 rebounds and 4.5 blocks in NCAA Tournament.
  • Selected to NCAA South Regional All-Tournament Team

#25 Marquis Teague

  • Finished with three assists to four turnovers. In last 20 games, has 107 assists to 48 turnovers, a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio.
