Women's Tennis

Lexington, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team looks to continue their streak of success as they get set to host two home matches. The team will start the weekend off against a tough opponent, No. 48 Purdue, at noon ET on Saturday at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex. The Cats will then face a quick turnaround as they host Miami (Ohio) the following day at 5 p.m. ET.

These two opponents are certainly not new to UK. The Cats have a 17-3 all-time record against Purdue and hold a similar, 17-2, record against Miami (Ohio).

UK hopes to build on the success from its opening weekend where the team jumped out to a 3-0 start on the season. This is the most impressive start for the Cats since the 2008-09 season, where the team was ranked 25th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

With these two games, the No. 71 Wildcats will enter in to the heart of a nine-game home stretch, where they look to gain momentum before South Eastern Conference play begins in March.
