LEXINGTON, KY – UK sophomore Terrence Jones was named the SEC Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

Jones, a 6-8 forward from Portland, Ore., tallied 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 3.0 steals leading the Wildcats to wins over St. John’s and fifth-ranked North Carolina. Jones scored a season-high 26 points while tying his season marks with nine rebounds and four blocked shots against St. John’s. He tied or set career marks with four steals, 11 free-throws made and 16 free throws attempted. Jones scored 14 first-half points in win over North Carolina and finished the game with three blocks. He has made a 3-pointer in every game he’s attempted one this season.

The award is Jones’ first this season, and the second for UK. Anthony Davis was named Freshman of the Week earlier this season.

Kentucky returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Bloomington, Ind. for the annual border rivalry game with Indiana. Scheduled for a 5:15 p.m. ET tip, the game can be seen live on ESPN.
