LEXINGTON, Ky. –  Linebacker Danny Trevathan and kickoff specialist Joe Mansour have been named honorable-mention Performers of the Week at their positions by the College Football Performance Awards.

Trevathan had yet another monster game in Saturday’s 30-13 win over Ole Miss.  Trevathan collected 17 tackles, tying his career high, including an assisted tackle for loss.  He also had his fourth pass interception of the season, including his third-consecutive game with a pickoff.  

Mansour had six kickoffs, including five deep kickoffs and one squib kick.  He had three touchbacks and Ole Miss’ average starting field position on the deep kickoffs was inside the Rebels’ own 22-yard line.

Trevathan Gets ESPN Helmet Sticker: Linebacker Danny Trevathan received a “Helmet Sticker” from Southeastern Conference beat writers Edward Aschoff and Chris Low of ESPN.com in recognition of his outstanding performance in the win over Ole Miss (see details of Trevathan’s game above).

Trevathan received one of five helmet stickers given out for Saturday’s SEC games, along with running back Jeff Demps of Florida, quarterback Aaron Murray of Georgia, Arkansas running back Dennis Johnson and LSU punter Brad Wing.

More on the Cat Comeback: Trailing 13-10 entering the fourth quarter, Kentucky scored 20 unanswered points to claim the victory over Ole Miss.  It marked the 14th time since 2006, a span of 66 games, that the Wildcats came from behind in the fourth quarter to win.

To put that achievement in perspective, prior to midseason 2006, one has to go back 191 games – all the way back to the 1989 season – to find 14 more fourth-quarterback comeback victories for the Cats.

Smith Sets Record: Quarterback Maxwell Smith completed 19 of 36 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Ole Miss.  His 283 passing yards is the most ever in one game for a Kentucky true freshman (non-redshirt) quarterback.  The old record was 208 yards by Larry McCrimmon vs. Florida in 1978.
