LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s soccer senior captain Kelsey Hunyadi and freshman Arin Gilliland were both named second team All-SEC by league coaches the league office announced on Monday.

“These are absolutely deserved awards for both Kelsey and Arin,” UK head coach Jon Lipsitz said. “They have been a huge part of our success this year so far. More importantly, individual awards are a reflection of our team success and due to the hard work of all of the players on a daily basis. We look forward to continuing to develop the program to higher and higher levels, which will result in more individual and team awards in the future.”

Hunyadi was a mainstay in the top five of virtually every offensive category in the SEC throughout the season.

She has posted career numbers in every category including points (34), goals (12), assists (10) and game-winning goals (4). She’s quickly approaching single-season school records in all categories as well, ranking second in assists (record – 11), points (record – 39) and shots (record – 87) and third in goals (record – 15).

Gilliland started 14 games this season and tallied four goals, two game-winners which ranks sixth all-time among UK freshmen. She split her time between the backline and forward.

It marks the second straight season the Wildcats have placed a player on the All-Freshman team.

Gilliland and Hunyadi are the 23rd and 24th Wildcats to be selected All-SEC.

The Wildcats face off against Tennessee on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET in the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament.
