Kentucky (11-4-0, 4-3-0) started off the weekend with a 1-0 double-overtime upset of No. 14 Tennessee Friday night.
Natalie Horner scored the golden-goal in the 106th minute, her second goal of the season and first in league play this year. The win earned UK three crucial points in the SEC standings where the Cats currently sit in sixth place with 12 points (wins equal three points, ties equal one).
The Bulldogs come into the match with 15 points tied for second in the SEC Eastern division and tied for the second overall spot in the conference.
Kentucky trails in the all-time series with Georgia 4-10-3 and hasn’t scratched a win against the Bulldogs since 1999. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie in Athens last season.
Kelsey Hunyadi leads the Cats offensively with a team-high 24 points on eight goals and eight assists, second most in the league.
Freshman goalie Kayla Price has five shutouts on the season, the second most by a UK freshman in program history and tied for the most in the SEC this season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. with the game being televised live on ESPNU. Live stats will be available at UKathletics.com.
