1.    What’s your hometown? Richmond, Calif.

2.    Most of the time, when student-athletes transfer it’s to a school that’s closer to home. You did the opposite. What was it about Kentucky over all the other schools out there? Even though I’m far from home I still feel like I’m close at the same time because of the coaching staff and my teammates. I feel right at home. I also wanted to branch out and be myself.

3.    What does being a Kentucky Wildcat mean to you? It means a lot. The fans, the team, the coaches, they’re all just amazing and I’m grateful to be here.

4.    What has impressed you the most about the coaching staff? How much they care about us on and off the court.

5.    What is the one thing about college life in Lexington that has surprised you the most? The fans. They’re crazy. It’s awesome how much they love the game of basketball.

6.    What’s it going to be like to have to sit out an entire season? I definitely feel like it’s going to be hard because there are going to be those times when I want to go out and play. It’s going to be a big challenge for me.

7.    Did you come from a sporting family? My sister is currently playing basketball right now in high school. My brother didn’t play but my mom and dad both played at the collegiate level at San Francisco State.

8.    How did that influence you to get involved with basketball? I knew basketball was kind of my ticket to getting a free education so I just took advantage of that.

9.    You’ve been in school for a little more than a month or so now, how are classes going? Classes and everything are going well. It’s definitely a big transition from UC Berkley to here, so I’m just still trying to adapt to that.

10.    How have the coaches helped you with the transition from high school basketball to college? Just calling me, texting me and checking on me to make sure I’m doing OK. They’re always giving me a pat on the back and checking in to make sure I’m doing fine.

11.    What is your dream job? To be an interpreter for American Sign Language.

12.    What is your favorite shot on the court? My hook shot. I love my hook shot. That’s my go-to move.

13.    What are you most looking forward to this season? Watching my teammates play and getting to the national championship game.

14.    What do you think about the Kentucky fans from what you’ve seen so far? I just love them. They’re amazing.

15.    How do you think you’re going to feel the first time you step out on the floor in Memorial Coliseum? I definitely feel like I’m going to be nervous because I’m going to have to sit out for the whole year. I just hope those nerves don’t affect my game on the court.

16.    Has there been any one player who has taken you under their wing to help the transition to a new school and new environment? If I had to say someone I’d probably say Brittany Henderson because she’s from California as well, so we’re both two people from far, far away. She’s helped me get used to it and adjust and make sure I’m OK with everything.

17.    Is there a motto you live by each day? Just strive to be your best.

18.     What are your thoughts about playing in the SEC? It’s definitely competitive. I think it’s going to be a big challenge. It’s totally different than the Pac-10 style of play.

19.    How do you think your game translates to Coach Mitchell’s style of play? I think it translates pretty well because I like to run and I feel like that’s what he likes to do too.

20.    What impresses you most about Coach Mitchell? His intensity and how fired up he always is for practices. It makes you pretty fired up also.

21.    What is something most people don’t know about you? I love talking with people about their problems and their issues.
