MIAMI — Kentucky men’s soccer sophomore forward Tyler Riggs and junior forward Matt Lodge have been ranked among the top-five players in Conference USA by TopDrawerSoccer.com, it was announced on Friday afternoon.

TopDrawerSoccer.com ranked the top 20 players in the league, tabbing Riggs as the second-best player in C-USA and Lodge as the fifth-best player in the conference. UCF forward and the league-leading goal scorer McKaully Tulloch was tabbed as the best player in the league.

The duo have helped the Wildcats lead the NCAA in goals scored with 26 in 12 games, with Kentucky ranked as high as No. 21 this week. UK returns to action on Sunday in Miami, facing FIU in its second C-USA match of the season, set for 12 p.m. ET.

A native of Louisville, Ky., Riggs owns nine goals and four assists in UK’s 12 games to open the season. A product of St. Xavier High School, Riggs has taken 30 shots with 22 coming on target, including two game-winning goals. Riggs had a great start to his career as a freshman in 2010, leading UK with five goals scored in 19 games, taking 24 shots, with 13 on goal.

Lodge has totaled seven goals and seven assists while starting all 12 games at forward for the high-octane Wildcats. A native of Rossington, England, Lodge has fired a team-leading and C-USA-best 57 shots, with 26 coming on target. UK’s first freshman All-America honoree in program history, Lodge has had a prolific three-year career, owning 17 goals and 12 assists, with six game-winning goals. With 46 career points, Lodge ranks sixth in UK career history, just 12 games into his junior season.
