In preparation for the 2011 Kentucky men’s soccer season, UKathletics.com is rolling out a series of player questionnaires, allowing fans, friends and family to get an inside look at UK soccer.
Today, fans can learn all about UK senior midfielder C.J. Tappel, who returns to the pitch for his final campaign after redshirting the 2010 season. A native of Lexington, Ky., Tappel was a member of the Conference USA All-Freshman team in 2007 after netting a goal and adding an assist. As a sophomore in 2008, Tappel netted a career-high three goals with two assists, starting 10 games. In 2009, Tappel solidified himself as one of the top players in the league, netting two goals and adding three assists. In his 54-game career, Tappel owns six goals and six assists, including two game winners.

What is something most people don’t know about you?
– I walked backwards for the last three weeks of high school because in catholic school that was the only thing I couldn’t do that was not written in the rule book.
If you had to play one sport other then soccer professionally right now, what would it be?
– Golf
