Continuing with our periodical updates of Kentucky’s facilities updates, I decided to take another photo tour of some of the projects taking place around the UK Athletics campus. Check out a full photo gallery of all the shots here and watch the progress of what the facilities looked like before and where they’re at now. Track facility

The oval of UK’s new track is beginning to take shape.

UK’s new track facility is expected to be completed by the spring 2012 semester.

Commonwealth Stadium

Brackets on which the new ribbons boards will be mounted onto have been installed around the upper deck of Commonwealth Stadium.

Speakers for Commonwealth Stadium’s old sound system are being removed to make way for the new sound system.

The old facing on both scoreboards have been removed at Commonwealth Stadium.

UK Softball Complex

The fences at the UK Softball Complex have been taken down to lengthen the dimensions of the field.

The fences at the UK Softball Complex are expected to be moved back at least 10 feet all the way around.

UK Soccer Complex

The new playing surface has been laid at the UK Soccer Complex and is expected to be ready by the UK women’s soccer home opener on Aug. 23.

A permanent tower to shoot film from will be installed on the side of the UK Soccer Complex over the next few weeks.
