Men's Soccer

Part 1: Dylan Asher

In preparation for the 2011 Kentucky men’s soccer season, UKathletics.com is rolling out a series of player questionnaires, allowing fans, friends and family to get an inside look at UK soccer.

The series continues with UK star sophomore Brendan Murphy, who emerged late in the year as one of the top talents in the college game. A native of Tamworth, England, Murphy played in 15 of UK’s 19 games, totaling one goal and one assist, seeing time in the midfield and at forward.

A 6-foot-1, 160-pounder, Murphy notched his first career assist off the bench in UK’s 1-0 win over IUPUI in the University of Kentucky Invitational on Sept. 5. Murphy emerged late in the season, starting the final two contest of the year and delivering one of the biggest goals of the campaign, a game-winning tally vs. eventual C-USA Tournament Champion South Carolina.
