In lieu of the United States women’s soccer team’s 3-1 win over France to advance to the 2011 World Cup Championship match on Sunday, the UK women’s soccer team took time out to weigh in with their thoughts on this year’s World Cup and what they’ll be doing for the event.

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? Going to (a local restaurant) to watch the game

World Cup thoughts – The US has proven that they can perform their best under any level of pressure.

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? Find the biggest American flag to wrap around myself, paint my face in stars and stripes with Emily Rogers … and then probably sit in my apartment and watch the game.
You’re playing on the US National team in the World Cup, where would you like to play the tournament?? Italy
World Cup thoughts – The World Cup has had some unbelievable goals, plays, and players this year which has been awesome to watch. This has led to women’s soccer getting a lot of great national attention and a higher level of respect for the sport. Hopefully we bring home a championship, GO USA!!

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? I’ll be watching the next game in airports, again but rooting for another world championship for the U.S.
World Cup thoughts – This year’s World Cup has truly been motivational; talking with the other freshmen, we thought watching the highlights or even watching the (USA vs. Brazil) game over would be that extra push prior to a hard match. It goes to show though it’s not over until the final whistle.

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? I will be dying slowly because I will be stuck on planes and in airports coming back from visiting my sister; so much for trying to be a good sister, came back to bite me.

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? I will be glued to the TV.
You’re playing on the US National team in the World Cup, where would you like to play the tournament?? Salzburg, Austria or somewhere in the north of Spain!
World Cup thoughts – Every World Cup is spectacular. There are always favorites and Cinderella stories. I think this year, the play (at least recently) couldn’t have been any better. US over Brazil in the dying moments of the game, Japan coming out of nowhere to be a beacon for their country. A few games going into PKs, it’s just been great stuff to watch and learn from. Everybody giving all they have for their country … it’s just been so awesome to cheer on the red, white, and blue. I’m a total dork when it comes to rooting for (the US), I’m just so passionate and proud to be in this nation. The finals illustrate the tournament perfectly: two teams with the will to win. It’s gonna be such a fantastic finish. GO USA!!

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? We will all be at (head coach Jon Lipsitz’s) housefor a big cook-out/ red white and blue rally cheering on the US.
You’re playing on the US National team in the World Cup, where would you like to play the tournament?? I would love to play in Brazil because of the amazing things I’ve heard about that country. Not only is it renowned in soccer lore, but in culture as well.

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? My eyes will be glued to the TV!!! I won’t miss one minute of the game!
You’re playing on the US National team in the World Cup, where would you like to play the tournament?? Germany
World Cup thoughts – I think the US is playing tremendous soccer. I enjoy every bit of it! Throughout the tournament, the USA’s play is continuing to gain more momentum especially in their win against Brazil, and their dominating win over the French. This momentum should carry the US to a victory in the finals on Sunday! I’m very exciting to watch the game.

What are your plans for the championship game on Sunday? I will be watching the World Cup final match with my whole family packed into our living room … with a lot of yummy food of course!

World Cup thoughts – World Cup is absolutely insane and I’m loving all of the great games! The US game against Brazil got so much hype and respect from the world!
