Team Records and Series Notes

•    Kentucky improves to 24-27 overall and 7-19 in the SEC, while Georgia drops to 25-26 on the season and 14-12 in league games.
•    Kentucky now has an all-time record of 86-124-1 vs. Georgia. The Wildcats are 41-46-1 against the Bulldogs in games played in Lexington.
•    UK head coach Gary Henderson is now 83-79 in his coaching career.
•    The Wildcats are now 1664-1430-25 in NCAA play all-time.

Team Game Notes

•    Kentucky sent 10 batters to the plate in the second inning and had seven hits.
•    UK registered 17 hits for the second time in its last three games.
•    Taylor Black’s grand slam in the second inning was Kentucky’s third grand slam of the season.
•    UK clinched its first series victory over Georgia since 2007.  The Cats were 1-8 against the Dogs in 2008, 2009 and 2010 combined.
•    Kentucky’s 12 runs were the most by the Wildcats since scoring 15 against Xavier on April 5.
•    Taylor Black, Chad Wright, and Braden Kapteyn continued to be the only Wildcats to start all 51 games this season for UK.
•    UK scored 10 or more runs for the seventh time this season (6-1).
•    Kentucky improved to 18-6 when scoring first in 2011.
•    The Wildcats are 21-9 overall at Cliff Hagan Stadium in 2011, including 7-7 in conference home games. 
•    UK is now 17-19 when facing a starting right-handed pitcher.
•    Kentucky had two steals in the sixth inning.

Individual Game Notes

•    Taylor Black snapped a 1-for-23 streak with a grand slam in the second inning.
o    The home run was his third of the season and his second grand slam of 2011.
o    Finished 2-for-5 with two runs and four RBIs.
o    His four RBIs tied his season-high, set on two other occasions.
o    Started his 91st straight game at shortstop which is a team-high for most consecutive games started at one position.
o    Recorded his 12th stolen bases of the season in the sixth inning.
•    Thomas McCarthy extended his hitting streak to six straight with single in his first at bat of the game.
o    Added his sixth home run of the season, a solo shot, in the fourth inning.
o    Hit another solo home run (7) in the eighth for his first career two-homer game.
o    After going 13 games without a home run, McCarthy now has three in his last six games.
o    First Wildcat to hit two home runs in a game since Michael Williams did it on Feb. 25 against Illinois-Chicago.
o    Recorded his team-high 24th two-out hit and his 15th two-out RBI of the season.
o    Finished 4-for-5 with two runs and four RBIs.
o    Now leads the team with 71 hits in 2011.
•    Corey Littrell tied his season-high of six strikeouts with back-to-back K’s to end the fifth inning.
o    Improved his record to 6-5 in 2011.
o    He had three strikeouts in the fifth inning.  A walk after the first one prevented a 1-2-3 inning.
o    Pitched six innings, allowed seven hits and four runs to go along with six strikeouts.
o    It is Littrell’s longest outing in his last five starts.
•    Luke Maile hit his team-leading ninth home run of the season in the fifth inning.
o    Maile has two home runs in his last three games.
o    Finished 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
•    Chad Wright hit his 14th double of the season in the first inning.
o    Wright scored his 38th run of the season, second most on the team.
o    Recorded his team-leading 16th steal of the season in the sixth inning.
o    Finished 2-for-5 with a run scored.
•    Neiko Johnson has at least one hit in each of his last four games and has scored at least one run in three straight.
o    Made a diving catch in right field for the third out of the second inning.
o    Drew a bases loaded walk in the second to force in a run.
o    Finished 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs and one RBI.
•    Walter Wijas made his 19th relief appearance of the season and his first since April 30 at LSU.
o    Pitched 1.1 innings, allowed one run on four hits and struck out one batter.
•    Mike Kaczmarek made his 17th relief appearance of the season and his first since April 30 at LSU.
o    Pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowed two hits, no walks and struck out one.
o    It was his 12th scoreless outing of the season.
