Team Records and Series Notes

•    Kentucky moves to 21-26 overall and 5-18 in the SEC in 2011, while Vanderbilt improves to 39-6 on the season and 18-5 in conference play.
•    Kentucky now has an all-time record of 140-130-5 vs. Vanderbilt. The Wildcats are 71-48-1 against the Commodores in games played in Lexington.
•    UK head coach Gary Henderson is now 80-77 in his coaching career.
•    The Wildcats are now 1660-1429-25 in NCAA play all-time.

Team Game Notes

•    Kentucky allowed six or more runs in one inning for the sixth time this season.
•    Taylor Black, Chad Wright, and Braden Kapteyn continued to be the only Wildcats to start all 47 games this season for UK.
•    The Wildcats drew four walks in the ninth inning, including three straight to start the frame.
•    The Cats are now 4-7 against ranked opponents in 2011.
•    UK is now 5-6 in conference games played at home.
•    The Wildcats are 18-8 at Cliff Hagan Stadium in 2011.  
•    UK is now 5-8 when facing a starting left-handed pitcher.

Individual Game Notes

•    Chad Wright extended his hitting streak to nine straight games with his fifth home run of the season in the sixth inning.
o    Has reached base safely in 24 straight games.
o    It was Wright’s third home run this season against an SEC team.
o    It was Wright’s 11th career home run.
o    A single in the eighth made Wright the only Wildcat to record more than one hit in a game against Vanderbilt this season.
o    He drove in his 31st run of the season with an infield single in the ninth.
•    Taylor Black started his 84th straight game at shortstop which is a team-high for most consecutive games started at one position.
•    Thomas McCarthy recorded a hit for the second straight game and the fourth time in his past five games.
o    Finished the night 1-for-3 with a walk.
•    Corey Littrell started for the Wildcats and finished with three strikeouts.
o    He is now tied for second on the team with 43 strikeouts this season.
o    Littrell pitched five innings, allowed nine hits and seven runs.
•    Nick Kennedy made his eighth relief appearance of the season.
o    Kennedy allowed more than one run for the first time this season.
o    He allowed three runs on five hits in one and one-third innings of work.
•    Braden Kapteyn made his 13 pitching appearance of the season.
o    He allowed one hit while pitching two and one-third innings of scoreless relief.
o    Kapteyn struck out three and did not walk a batter.  
o    It was Kapteyn’s eighth relief appearance of the season without yielding a run.
•    Luke Maile recorded UK’s first hit of the game in the bottom of the third inning.
•    Michael Williams was hit by a pitch for the fourth time this season.
•    TJ Daugherty pinch hit in the ninth inning.
