LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s season opener against Western Kentucky University has been set for an 8:15 p.m. CDT kickoff on Thursday, Sept. 1.
The Wildcats will take on the Hilltoppers in LP Field in Nashville. ESPNU will handle the national telecast.

Lower-level sideline seats have been priced at $43 each. Club-level seating also is available for $63 each.
This is the second year of a four-year contract between UK and WKU. The teams played in Commonwealth Stadium in 2010 and will do so again in 2012. WKU’s two home games will be played at LP Field, home of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, in 2011 and 2013.
This will be Kentucky’s fifth appearance at LP Field. UK played in the stadium for the Music City Bowl in 1999, 2006, 2007 and 2009.
Kentucky will be vying to extend its school-record streak of five-consecutive bowl games in 2011. The season opener will be the fans’ first look at the new Wildcat squad. On defense, the top 11 tacklers return from last season, including All-America linebacker Danny Trevathan and All-Southeastern Conference safety Winston Guy.
The UK offense will be led by quarterback Morgan Newton and wide receiver La’Rod King, along with four returning starters in the offensive line.
